Who operates Planly

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Planly, we may collect the following information:

• Account information, such as your name, email address, profile image, sign-in provider, and email verification status.
• Study content you provide, such as syllabus text, PDFs, images, course outlines, subject names, exam dates, study availability, notes, flashcards, quizzes, and schedules.
• Generated learning content, such as AI notes, summaries, flashcards, quiz questions, extracted topics, study sessions, progress, streaks, and quiz results.
• Subscription and purchase status, such as whether you are on the free plan or Planly Pro. Payment processing is handled by Google Play and RevenueCat. We do not receive your full card number.
• Technical data, such as device type, app version, diagnostics, crash logs, performance data, notification tokens, and basic usage events.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Create and manage your Planly account.
• Generate notes, summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and schedules.
• Sync your data across devices using Firebase services.
• Track progress, streaks, exam readiness, and study activity.
• Send study reminders and app notifications if you enable them.
• Provide subscriptions and restore purchases through RevenueCat and Google Play.
• Improve app reliability, debug crashes, and prevent abuse.
• Respond to support, privacy, and account deletion requests.

AI processing

Planly uses Google Gemini to generate study material from content you provide. When you ask Planly to generate notes, summaries, flashcards, quizzes, or a schedule, the relevant study content may be sent to Google Gemini for processing. Do not upload sensitive documents or personal information that you do not want processed by AI services.

Third-party services

Planly uses trusted service providers to operate the app:

• Firebase Authentication for account sign-in and identity management.
• Cloud Firestore for storing app data such as notes, schedules, progress, and profile records.
• Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics for diagnostics and app reliability, if enabled in your build.
• Google Gemini for AI generation.
• RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management.
• Google Play Billing for Android purchases and subscription payments.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only when needed to operate Planly, process subscriptions, provide AI features, comply with law, protect users, or respond to your requests.

Data retention

We keep account and study data while your account is active. If you request deletion, we delete or anonymize account data and associated study data within 30 days, unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security, fraud prevention, tax, payment, or dispute purposes. Backup copies may take additional time to expire from secure backup systems.

Your choices and controls

• You can edit or delete study content inside the app where those controls are available.
• You can request account and data deletion at any time from the Account Deletion page.
• You can cancel subscriptions through Google Play subscription settings.
• You can disable notifications from your device settings.

Account deletion

To delete your Planly account and app data, follow the process on our Account Deletion page. Deleting your Planly account does not automatically cancel an active Google Play subscription. You must cancel subscriptions in Google Play if you do not want future renewals.

Security

We use Firebase and other industry-standard services to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Planly is designed for students, but it is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

International processing

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than where you live, including by Google, Firebase, RevenueCat, and other service providers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Planly changes or legal requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this page with the updated date.
